Risk assessment of water inrushes from bed separations in Cretaceous strata corresponding to different excavation lengths during mining in the Ordos Basin

Evaluation of the risk bed-separation water inrush (BWI) hazards in Cretaceous strata is required for safe mining Ordos Basin, China. In this paper, three coal mines Basin were selected detailed evaluation risk. The multifactor superposition method and stress balance arch theory used to obtain from bed separations at different excavation lengths. First, related BWI factors analyzed, index any coordinate point study area was calculated using superposition. weights relevant obtained entropy weight method. Then, based on theory, overall zone corresponding length calculated. Finally, boundary values between levels by comparing with without BWIs. With help these values, zones some areas evaluated. results verified practice, which demonstrated scientific basis practicality assessment
